While Adfactors PR has been providing communications
support for sport events for many years, the sports practice was
launched as a separate vertical in early 2008.
The group’s first major project was to manage the
vast and diverse communication challenges around the Indian Premier
League (IPL), an innovative format of cricket developed only recently
and effectively adopted during the IPL tournament by the Board of
Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Adfactors PR successfully promoted and delivered
an ambitious communications programme across eight cities and 59
games spread over 44 days. Our service package included creating
a distinct brand identity for IPL and the event, managing media
relations across the nation, and managing media centers at each
of the eight IPL venues.
Our consultants and operational teams went beyond
the call of duty to provide unconventional services such as managing
media accreditations for over 1400 journalists from three continents,
and match-day logistics.
Simultaneously, we successfully provided communications
and promotional support to two franchisee teams.
Our other engagements include strategising for
the inaugural edition of the Champions League Twenty20, promoted
by BCCI and ESPN Star Sports, as well as sports events for various
corporates like Mahindra & Mahindra, the Dempo Group and Hero
Honda.
Our ten-strong sports team includes veteran sports
writers, with deep knowledge of the game and relationships with
the sports media at the Asia level. |
